The Division of Mine Safety has release the name of the miner killed in this morning's accident at Sebree Mine.
29-year-old Rickey Thorpe, of Dawson Springs, and another employee were performing maintenance work on a continuous miner when the equipment fell, killing Thorpe.
Investigators with the Kentucky Division of Mine Safety are on-site investigating the accident and have closed the mine until further notice.

Webster County Deputy Coroner Todd Vanover has confirmed that there was a mine fatality at ALPR’s Sebree Mine near Sebree, KY in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
“All I can confirm at this time is there was a miner pinned under a piece of machinery,” Vanover said.
The corner’s office is in the process of notifying the next of kin. Until that time the miner’s name is being withheld.
“He was a mine mechanic working on a continuous miner,” said Dick Brown with the Division of Mine Safety in Frankfort. “Apparently the machinery fell and crushed him.”
The Journal-Enterprise will have more information on the situation as it becomes available.
