On Friday the citizens of Clay will bid farewell to longtime Postmaster Larry Campbell. Campbell, who has been at the Clay Post Office since 1996, will be retiring from the postal service as of Friday, September 26, 2014.

“I appreciate the kidness that Clay has shown me the last 18 years,” said Campbell. “I’ve met some good people and made a lot of friends. That’s what you miss when you retire.”
Campbell started his career in Madisonville as a clerk/carrier in 1979. After 13 years in Hopkins County he became the Postmaster of the Island, Kentucky post office, before eventually coming to the city of Clay.
“Clay is a great town,” Campbell said.
Friends and neighbors are invited to stop by and say goodbye.
