Plans for 2014 Providence ‘4th of July Celebration’ have been announced by the Providence Tourism Commission.
This year’s celebration will get under way at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4, and will feature live music from 4:00 until 10:00 p.m.

From 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., “The Sweet Beats” will bring ‘50 years of Beatlemania’ to Providence. The four members of this band, dressed in original Beatles costumes and equipped with authentic era instruments, will recreate Beatlemania by performing many of the band’s hits.
From 7:00 p.m. until the end of the night, the country, southern rock and blues band ‘Six Toed Cuz’n” will take the stage. The band’s roster includes some names local people might recognize, including singer David Oldham, lead guitarist Casey Majors, bassist Jon Gunn, guitarist Chris Dickerson, drummer Chris Sivells and background singer Pam Majors.
The event will also include various food and vendor booths throughout the afternoon and night, and free give-aways. There will also be a number of inflatables for the kids, including: a 40 foot obstacle course; the Jupiter Jump inflatable; a 3-in-1 Combo inflatable (includes bouncer, slide and a basketball goal); the Superman slide inflatable; and a 13’x13’ bouncy house.
The fireworks display is scheduled to be set off at around 9:00 p.m.
