Although 2013 started off as a slow year for the Webster County Water District (WCWD), things turned around over the last four months of the year. In September, October, November and December the plant produced more water in 2013 than it did in 2012.
At last week’s monthly water board meeting, Water District Assistant Superintendant Robert Schindley reported that in December the plant produced 28,470,000 gallons of water, which is 767,200 more than in December 2012. That pushed the yearly total 1,812,335 gallons higher than the previous year.

Superintendent Paul Lashbrooke went over the 2013 Water Loss Report, telling the board that they had shown a total annual average of 8.75% water loss.
Lashbrooke also reported to the water district board that WCWD was ranked 3rd or 4th on the GRADD, 7 county, water project ranking.  The District’s proposed project is to paint and add mixing systems in Oak Heights and Vandersburg Tanks. The GRADD ranking effects the priority ranking assigned to projects that are seeking funding from state grants.
The February meeting of the WCWD was rescheduled to Friday, December 14, 2014 due to a conflict on the normal date.
