According to AT&T, the wireless outage in Western Kentucky has been repaired.
"Wireless service has been restored in Western Kentucky after a cable cut earlier today impacted service for some AT&T customers," said Cathy Lewandowski, Sr. PR Manager, Corporate Communications for AT&T Tennessee/Kentucky. "Technicians rerouted wireless traffic and service is currently running normally. We know customers count on their wireless services, and we apologize for this inconvenience. "
Ms. Lewandowski did not respond when asked if there would be a credit or discount given to customers within the outage area.
The cut line was reported to be a fiber optic cable in the Bowling Green, KY area. Technicians were able to redirect service onto other existing lines.

According to the Madisonville Police Department, seven of the eight cell towers in the area were down.
The cause of the outage was unknown, but AT&T was working to restore cell service.
According to an AT&T customer support representive who spoke with The Journal-Enterprise on Tuesday, "There are a lot of towers in that area code that are severely degraded. I can't tell you how many, there are a lot of them. The restoration time and date is currently undetermined, but technical support will be working around the clock to get service restored."
