Providence authorities are looking for information on a driver who damaged traffic lights and took out a fire hydrant  on Wednesday, June 25 between 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Authorities say there were no skid marks at the seen, making it appear that the vehicle struck the 22 and a half feet tall pole that house the control box, destroyed the fire hydrant and then continued on it’s way. They are currently reviewing video surveillance taken from a nearby store.
Workers from Elliot Electric Kentucky Inc., based in Lexington, have been on the scene to make repairs to the traffic lights. They are expected to be back up and running sometime next week.
Police Chief Brent McDowell asked that anyone with info please contact the Providence Police Department at 270-667-2021.
