On Wednesday, WCHS’s new principal, Tara Howard, released the name of the high school’s new Assistant Principal. Lesia Whitaker brings 24 years of experience with her to the job.

“I’m just excited to be in Webster County,” said Whitaker. “I think with a new superintendent, a new high school principal and a new middle school, this is going to be a very exciting time for Webster County students and parents.”
Whitaker has spent the last two years as an Educational Consultant at Letcher County, where she spent three years prior to that as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Whitaker has served two years as Assistant Principal at Powell County High School, Assistant Principal at Hopkinsville High School and she served as a principal for the Corbin Board of Education.
“Webster County is a very beautiful area,” she said. “We were only there long enough for the interview, but we look forward to seeing more of the area.”
