Webster County Board of Education announced the name of Sebree Elementary’s new principal on Tuesday. Dawn Forker, a special education teacher for grades 2-5 at Burns Elementary School in Daviess County, will replace principal Terry Starks who resigned his position at the end of the school year in order to return to the classroom.
“Sebree is an awesome community with great pride and talent,” said Forker. “I am so thankful that I will have the opportunity to help the students maximize their potential and grow into a school that will cultivate young minds by preparing them for what lies ahead. With a team approach, the teachers and I will be working side by side to ensure this progress and success for our students.”
Forker has been in her current position since 2005. Before that she spent two years as a special eduction teacher at East View Elementary School also in Daviess County.
She earned her bachelors in Learning and Behavior Disorders from Murray State, a Masters in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan and a Masters of Arts in Instructional Leadership from University of the Cumberlands.
