As the restructuring of the Webster County School District continues, interim superintendent Pete Galloway announced the appointment of two officials at Monday night’s school board meeting.
“It’s a great day for Webster County Schools,” said Galloway. “I look forward to seeing the effects of these changes. I think the emphasis will be more on student learning and achievement than it’s been in some time.”
Long time Webster County educator and administrator Georgiann McCord will return to the district, after spending two years in Union County, to assume the newly created Deputy Assistant Superintendent position. McCord has 32 years of experience in Webster County schools.
Kim Saalwaechter, Supervisor of Assessment & Accountability for Webster County Schools, was announced as the new Director of Special Education/Early Childhood Education. Saalwaechter has been with the district for twenty years.
Both positions were created by the restructuring plan that was introduced by future Superintendent Dr. Rachel Yarbrough and approved by the board earlier this year.
“I’m extremely fortunate to have Georgiann McCord and Kim Saalwaechter onboard so far,” Yarbrough said. “I think our new team will all be people of the highest caliber.”
