The Webster County Water District met Thursday morning in Dixon. Assistant Superintendant Robert Schindley filled in for Superintendant Paul Lashbrook who was off.
Schindley reported that in the month of August, the water plant producted 29,380,000 gallons of water, 2,471,050 less than the amount produced during the same period one year ago. This continues a trend that has been going all year. The plant produced 31,900,000 gallons of water in July, which is the most of any month in 2013, but still 3,813,190 less than what they produced in July of 2012.
In new business, Schindley reported to the board that there were $54,781.55 in emergency interconnect grant funds remaining after payment had been made to the engineer. He suggested that these funds could be used to upgrade the district’s SCADA equipment, which would cost approximatly $73,277.
The water board then voted to close the water office for half a day so that employees could attend the funeral of Superintendant Lashbrook’s mother.
