Coal Festival

The Providence Coal Festival Committee has announced the schedule of events for the 38th Annual Coal Festival, which will kick off Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00 p.m.

For years the event was held on the second week of June, but the last few years have seen the date pushed back into May. Although not a popular change for some parents, with schools still is session, it’s a change that was necessary.

“If we want to have rides, we don’t have a choice,” said Coal Festival Committee member Clint Prow. “The company that provides the rides has other places to go in June.”
The schedule of events includes:


Tuesday, May 26:
5pm — Rides and concessions open
6pm — Baby Contest (0-23 month)
8pm — Brian Hart Band
Wednesday, May 27:
5pm — Rides and concessions open
6-9pm — G&L Karaoke
Thursday, May 28:
5pm — Rides and concessions open
6pm — Beauty Contest (ages 2-6)
Blue Diamond Auction will auction items for the Coal Festival following the beauty contest
Friday, May 29:
The Balloon Guy
5pm — Rides and concessions open
6pm — Beauty Contest (ages 7-15)
8pm Wrestling
Saturday, May 30:
Cruise-In sponsored by Do-It Best Relay for Life team
12-4pm — Rides and concessions open
The Balloon Guy
4-5pm — Break/Rides & concessions closed
5pm — Rides/Concessions reopen
6pm — Ms Coal Festival Pageant
8pm — Live Music
