At around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell stopped a pickup registered to Jay's Electric Service at the corner of Morgan and Cedar Streets. Behind the wheel was William Clark, 23, who had escaped from a Graves County Jail work crew earlier in the day.

Plans released for Providence Literary event
Special guest has ties to popular television show "The Walking Dead"
The city of Providence will play host to a new event on September 13, 2014, welcoming dozens of authors from around the region to the first ever Providence Literary Festival. The centerpiece of the event will be a horror author with four New York Times Best Sellers and ties to the popular television series “Walking Dead”.
