Water District production still up

Webster County Water District continues a trend of higher water production, having topped 2013 marks in four of the first five months of 2014.

On Thursday night Webster County High School’s Site Based Decision Making Committee announced the selection of WCHS’s new Principal, bringing back an educator with roots in Webster County.

Sebree man drowns in fishing accident

The search for a missing man ended in tragedy on Sunday when search and rescue personnel located the body of Charles Michael Taylor, 46 of Sebree, at the bottom of a Sebree area pond.

City of Dixon creates Public Works positions, Harkins appointed

Dixon Commission met last week in their regular scheduled meeting. During the meeting, commission members voted to approve the second reading of an ordinance that would create the position of Public Works Director.

Clay fire department could be finished this week

Clay City Council handled a brief agenda last Tuesday night, quickly approving the second reading of three budgetary ordinances and voting to renew the city employees’ insurance plan for the next fiscal year. But the biggest new of the night was the announcement that contractors were only a week and a half away from finishing construction of the new Clay Fire Department building.
