Sebree was the epicenter of a man hunt Monday morning, which ended with an escaped convict being taken into custody without incident.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Ronald T. Hardrick, 51, was being transferred from the Henderson County Jail to McLean County by a Henderson County Jail official when he escaped from the vehicle near the Highway 56 overpass near Sebree at approximately 8:04 a.m.
The Kentucky State Police took the lead on the search for Hardrick, assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Department and a Fish and Wildlife Officer.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., Hardrick was located laying down in a wooded area near Old Beechgrove Road. He was transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson to be treated for exposure.
Once cleared, he will be lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center. The Department of Corrections is handling the investigation and charges.
Hardrick was arrested last year in connection with a string of burglaries in Henderson and Webster County. Charges at that time included :
• Parole Violation
• 1st Degree Burglary
• Theft by Unlawful Taking ($10,000 or more but under $1,000,000)
• Being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun
• 2nd Degree Burglary
• Theft by Unlawful Taking ($500 or more but under $10,000)
