State snow plows to be out this weekend!

If you see snow plows driving slow along area highways over the next few days don’t be alarmed.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway Crews are gearing up for snow season. Plow operators are checking their equipment and making test runs along their assigned routes.

Today, the KYTC Henderson County Maintenance crew will be making test runs. Other counties will be making test runs over the next few days.
Official snow season runs from November 1st to April 1st. The earliest recorded snowfall for the region is Oct. 31st. The median early snowfall is about December 20th. The area averages about 10.5 inches of snow per year, usually in 3 or 4 snow events. Most of our snowfall is generally in January and February.
